Paul Kohlhoff, UX and HCI scientist, serves as CTO and designer and developer of gameSense Sports software products.
Paul began programming at an early age, bringing homemade computer games to school to show his friends. During his college years at Virginia Tech, he studied Human-Computer Interaction in music and video for one year with the elite L2ork group. At Virginia Tech, Paul specialized in web and interface design, graduating from the School of Engineering with a BS in Computer Science. While attending college, Paul helped bring the Big Event, a large-scale community outreach program, to Virginia Tech, by building a management system for the use of the program coordinators and hundreds of volunteers.
After college Paul was hired to lead a team of developers managing 50K+users-per-day financial data sites with live trading. He built relationships with high-value clients over a four year period. He later worked with learning product developer MakeMusic to bring an all-new content curation platform to a large customer base of teachers and students.
Paul brings his understanding of human and computer interactivity and technical experience to gameSense Sports, designing learning tools that are effective, fun and easy-to-use. He enjoys creating great products alongside sports and cognitive science superstars, and for an enthusiastic and curious audience of athletes and aspiring sports stars.
In his free time Paul is an accomplished and active musician who plays numerous instruments, including guitar and violin. His preferred styles are folk and bluegrass.
